Who you are matters

Describe where you come from

I come from the land of the trees-covered suburbs of Southern California - Claremont, CA

Tell me where you're going.

I am going where morning alarms are replaced with the sound of the crashing waves.

Tell me how you plan to get there

Through diligent planning, preparation, and luck.

How are you LIKE your parents?

I am much like my parents in how we enjoy connecting with people through food and laughter.

How are you UNLIKE your parents?

I am unlike my parents, in which I have lived a privileged life - away from poverty, injustice, and violence.

Have you developed your own expectations for yourself, or if you were honest, would you say you're operating under someone else's expectations?

I believe that I am very much self-aware and operate on my values and expectations.

Who, other than a relative, serves as a model for you of someone who lives life with great passion and personal responsibility?

Outside of my parents, Naval Ravikant's perspective’s have had the most influence on how I live my own life.

Connecting with the ANIMAL WORLD: What wild animal do you feel a special connection with, and why?

The animal I most connect with is an Owl. Legend tribute to owls being old wise spirits. My parent has described me as highly independent and wise from an early age.

Connecting with the NATURE KINGDOMS: Describe a significant childhood encounter with a tree or plant.

I grew up in a conservative catholic household where the thought of marijuana was heavily frowned upon. as such, my first encounter with a marijuana plant was shocking - realizing that marijuana wasn't "evil" but just a plant - a beneficial one at that.

  1. Have never heard of Naval Ravikant, so I'm curious about what he particular says that resonates with you so strongly. Definitely am going to check him out.

  2. Hi Peter, I really enjoyed reading your blog and getting to know a bit more about you! Great story about the marijuana plant - I think I had a similar realisation too at one point :)

  3. So true about needing luck to get where you want to go - although I think at some point enough hard work starts to create its own luck. I think you also just inspired me to work towards a beach house at some point in my life.

  4. I really resonated with the differences you hold with your parents. I’m definitely beyond privileged compared to my parents’ upbringing as well.
